Joining Second Life: For Those Real Lifers

To Join Second Life:

1 – Go to Second Life website: http://www.secondlife.com and select “Join”

2 – Create a user name, choose an avatar and fill in all other information

3 – DO NOT download Viewer 2.  Go here and download the Phoenix Viewer:  http://www.phoenixviewer.com/downloads.php and download the version 1.5.2.1185

4 – Go back to the Second Life website and do the Age Verification

5 – Load the Phoenix Viewer

6 – Login to Second Life using your user credentials “NameYouCreated” and the Last Name will be “Resident”

7 – Once you are logged in hit “Ctrl+P” and open the Preferences window.

8 – In the preferences window under the General Tab, find where it says rating and drop down the rating so it reads “PG, Mature and Adult”

9 – Make sure in the audio tab that the streaming audio music is checked.

9 – Hit apply and ok.

10 -  Let Linda or Justin know you have completed these steps.

FLOODRAISER: Residents helping friends in need.

On the night of September 25th and in the early morning hours of September 26th, three fellow residents that reside in Ohio in real life, took a loss on their belongings and property.  Their home couldn’t bear the storms they endured. The lower level of their home is flooded and is not safe to reside in.  Sadly, this isn’t covered under their insurance.

Dyvim1Tvar Khandr lost everything from his bed, personal belongings, his PC and his room. JustinElias Anatra lost music gear, personal belongings, his studio and his room. Linda Ethaniel, JustinElias Anatra and Dyvim1Tvar Khandr need your help. In order for Justin and Dyvim to regain access to their living space safely alot of work is needed.  The entire level needs to be pumped out, the carpeting needs to be removed.  Damages to walls need to be repaired and the entire area needs to be sprayed for mold and mildew due to Justin being highly allergic. Last but not least, for future assurance a new sump pump will also need to be installed.

Any and all donations received for this cause will go to a secondary account in Second Life.  This account was created to collect Linden’s for the sole purpose of helping this family regain control over their home and not having to worry about their financials.  If you would like to make a donation to help Linda, Justin and Dyvim but can not attend a concert or fundraising event then please send it to the follow name, “FundraiserCollector Resident” or go to the Anatra-Bayn Designs store in-world and drop a donation in the donation box provided at the landing point. There will be an area on the Anatra-Bayn website with a total raised and collected, weekly.

A Lit’l Update from US!

As you all may know, Justin became really sick about a month ago and the many prayers and helpful thoughts you all send to both him and I have helped us tremendously. Justin is getting back in to the swing of things and he has returned to singing live shows in Second Life. There will be times that he may not have the ability to sing in Second Life and for that we apologize.

OH! Some more good news! Justin now has a ReverbNation site where fans, friends, family and even enemies can purchase his mp3′s and download them. Now for the not-so-good news. A notice went out about 2 weeks ago about JET closing it’s doors. I want to clarify the brief notice I sent. JET Social Nightclub has been put on the back burner. Justin and I have had very little time to open the club. Why pay for land when we aren’t utilizing it? So JET hasn’t fully disappeared. It’s only gone for a little while.

On that note, I hope you all have a lovely, safe and fun Labor Day. We love and miss you all dearly and hope to see you around the grid!

Justin Elias & Kickin: An hour of fun!

The other night JustinElias put on a great live performance at Kickin.  We appreciate your devotion and support!  For those of you who don’t already know, Justin isn’t just a vocalist who uses Karaoke tracks.  Seriously? Karaoke? No. Justin recreates the music tracks in his studio to fit his style, key, etc.  Once the track is done he then adds the harmonies to give the audience a unique experience.  An experience that you will remember and come back for more.  Oh, did I mention he does tracks for other live performers and musicians? But enough of that! On to his set list!

JustinElias Anatra is up for Auction!

Head on over to Jade’s Jazz Island (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Jades%20Jazz%20Island/84/77/24) and outbid the current bidder on JustinElias’ box.  All proceeds from the auction go to support live music at one of the biggest and well known venue’s in Second Life, Jade’s Jazz Venue.  Help save this sim and venue!  JustinElias got his start at Jade’s and he still loves this venue to this day.  On August 1st, 2001 at 8PM SLT the auction ends and the highest bidder wins a private 1 hour performance with Justin. NHL: A battle worth fighting.

It has not been an easy road for me to travel the last year and a half but with the love and support from so many of you, it has given me the strength to believe and the faith to know that I can overcome anything, even this.  However, the one person who has made me believe the most, is Justin. Our day’s come and go and we both will admit, we have had some really bad days, but we stay by each other’s side. “No matter what.”  Everyone has their own problems and health issues and for the most part we tend to not publicize it.  In fairness to all of my friends and family, I am writing this and will post a small video I made for my other half, Justin.

I am a cancer survivor.  I am a cancer warrior.  I am both.  I have Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  To keep this short, if you don’t know what NHL is, go here to read about it: PubMed.  What is the shortened explaination?  Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is cancer of the lymphatic system and lymphoid tissue.  This includes the lymph nodes, spleen, and other organs of the immune system.   I have been through chemotherapy; not once, not twice, but beginning my third course.  It’s not easy and honestly, I could give up but I won’t.  I have my little girl who needs me and my husband and life partner who not only needs me but has also taught me so much.  It is because of Justin that I believe.  I believe I can beat anything, even Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

The only thing I ask of all my friends and family is keep the prayers coming, not only for myself, for Justin as well. We both could use a little help from the big man who brought us together. [Ponders a thought.  Maybe God brought Justin and I together for a greater purpose. Smirks.]  None-the-less.  I ask that you all do not take my silence and absence personal during this time.  Sending you our prayers, warmth, hugs and kisses.  We appreciate each and every one of you.
